Pinwheel Samosas
Today's recipe is very special guys, this is "PINWHEEL SAMOSAS" . I had tried this for the first time and result is just wow.. You can't believe that I had never ate this before and in first try it is awesome. As always, I had used the ingredients which are easily available in your home,with easy cooking method.
What should we need to keep in mind?
We have to keep in mind that, the potato must be boiled very nicely. While boiling potatoes, use one pinch of salt in the water. It will give a nice taste to your potatoes and not keep potatoes hard from any part.
Now, while kneading the dough always try to mix the refined oil or ghee with flour very properly. Rub it using your palm, so that ghee and flour will mix properly. Try to use minimum amount of water because the salt in flour will also release water. In the recipe I had told to keep the dough for 10 minutes if you want you can keep it for 15 minutes but not less than 10min because it needs to be softened.
Now, while making for batter, we have to keep in mind that the consistency of batter should be thick. As we have to use it for coating the pinwheel samosa and if it will be flowing batter then it will not coat the pinwheel properly.
Now, while frying the pinwheel samosa, we have to keep in mind that, the oil should be not too hot,(medium hot). Heat the oil at high flame, but we have to fry the samosa on low flame. So that it will be fried nicely from the inside also and pinwheel Samosa will be crispy.
Last but not the least the Pinwheel Samosas support will taste to yummy when, it is serve hot with red sauce or with any chutneys.
I want to share with you, why I decided to make this pinwheel samosa?. To be very honest guys, I decided to make this from the suggestion of my friend. One of my friend, asked me to cook something new Dish or something look so yummy. Then also I was thinking what should I made that he will love it, even everyone will love it. Then, he suggest me why don't you try some Chinese Samosa or a new type of samosa recipe like basket samosa. Than the pinwheel samosa strike to my mind and I thought why not make it. And you know guys, his reaction was "ohh wow! You made it". And he told me that " I will make this surely and you have to guide me". And I was so glad to know that he loved it and I will be so happy when my all friends will love it. So guys, try it and let me know how much like it.
About ingredients, some are confused about the name of ingredients. As some of my friends told me to use causal name that we use in day today life. So here, I describe some casual name of ingredients that are used in this recipe.
- Carom seeds - ajwain
- Kalonji - mangrela
- Cumin seeds - jeera
- Coriander - Dhaniya
- Flour - Maida
INGREDIENTS
Potatoes fillings :-
- Potatoes - 3 medium sized boiled
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Cumin seed - 1/2 tbsp
- Green chilli - 3 chopped
- Ginger and garlic paste - 1tbsp
- Cumin powder - 1 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Chatt masala - 1 tsp
- Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
- Red chilli powder as needed
- Salt as per taste
- All Purpose Flour - 1.5 cup
- Ghee or refined oil - 2 tbsp
- Carom seeds (ajwain) - 1/3 tsp
- Kalonji - 1/2 tsp
- Water - 1/4 cup or needed
- Salt - 1/3 tsp or neede
- All Purpose Flour - 2 tbsp
- Water needed
For potatoes fillings :-
- Heat a pan and add oil.
- Now add : Cumin seeds, ginger garlic paste and green chilli. Saute it for 30 secs.
- Add the boil mashed potatoes. Before it mash the potatoes.
- Now cook it for 1 min.
- Add :Coriander powder, cumin powder, salt, and Chatt masala. And cook for more 40-50 sec.
- Now add Garam masala and saute for 1-2 mins.
- IT is done, turn off the flame.
- Take a bowl and add flour.
- Add salt, Kalonji, Carom seeds and ghee. Mix all ingredients.
- Now add water and knead a stiff Dough.
- Cover it for 10 min.
- Take a small bowl and add flour.
- And the required amount of water to make a thick batter.
- Don’t add salt to it because the filling and dough has enough salt.
- After 10 min, again knead the dough.
- Now divide the dough into large parts. If you will take the same quantity of flour, than there will 3 peda of dough.
- Now take a rolling ping and roll the dough. Not so thin.
- Spread the potatoes filling on the wholr rolled dough.
- Now roll in the rolled dough carefully so the potatoes filled not come out.
- Press little to lock the ends.
- Now cut it into small pieces. You will get the piece like this. Watch the video it will more easy for you.
- Now, heat oil for frying.
- Deep the pinwheel into the flour batter and coat in from all the side properly.
- Now fry it.. Do same with all.
- You pinwheel Samosas are ready. Serve it with red sauce or any chutney.
