Yummy Bread Pockets Recipe



Hello, Welcome to Repast Love. Today we are going to prepare Veg. Bread Pockets . It is one of the easy and yummy snacks for any parties. 
Bread is the staple food for many people is bread generally healthy?  Depends on what bread and how it is processed in India. Many types of breads are available, so we will see in detail about these types of breads and its nutrition value. Let's see what types of bread are available in the market white whole wheat and brown breads are available. Apart from these whole grain bread and other types are also available but these 3 types are available maximum here so lets focus on these 3. These 3 types of bread differs basically based on its nutrition value and how it is processed. Before I go further into these details, first lets see about a wheat grain in detail. 
A wheat grain consists of 3 layers outer layer or Shell is called 'Bran', bran contains fibers, minerals and vitamins. Then innermost layer in bottom is called 'Germ', germ contains fat, vitamin E and small amount of protein and then middle layer in between these 2 layers is called 'Endosperm'. It forms around 80% of a whole grain contains mainly carbohydrates and small amount of protein as well carbohydrates are of simple type. So all these only forms a complete grain. 
White bread 
First lets see about white bread, in white bread during processing the outer layer bran and inner layer germ is removed so remaining is the middle endosperm layer. Basically it contains, mainly simple form of carbohydrates. What it does to body i,s that it raises blood glucose levels and because of that insulin raises. So you may gain more fat and fat loss will be difficult later on may also cause Diabetes. So basically white bread is a non nutririous food. All that is going inside is of not good quality. 
Whole Wheat Bread
In whole wheat bread all these layers are preserved not removed in processing, so good in nutrition contains fibers, vitamins, minerals etc. And also fiber content helps in slow digestion, so does not cause blood glucose to shoot up and does not cause insulin spike so fat storage chance is much lesser. It may help with your fat loss as well this is the basic difference between white and whole wheat bread. It's  better to switch from white to whole wheat bread but whole wheat bread has a problem in package if it says 100% whole wheat, it necessarily may not be a whole wheat bread also look at the nutritional info written in the back of the package. Check it, look at the ingredients list instead if some words like 'refined wheat or 'enriched flour' are used it may not be a whole wheat bread, place it back where you took it from this is just white bread with whole wheat combination. So, it defeats the purpose of talking a whole wheat bread. 

Brown Bread
There is an other type of bread called 'brown bread', apart from these if you ask, " Is brown bread a whole wheat bread" - MAY BE... you can say all brown bread are whole wheat bread. Again look at the nutritional info of the package, if it says something like '100% whole wheat' in Indian companies the way they market brown bread is different they add something like acaramel, a coloured ingredient with white bread and mark it as brown bread. If so, its white bread only some companies are marketing like this look for the packaging that says, something like 'enriched flour'. It can be white bread gluten is a protein found in wheat, some people may be allergic to gluten so if you have this allergy you may have to avoid bread. Ask your nutritionist for other options and make sure your bread does not contain much salt this is the basic difference between these 3 types of bread.

INGREDIENTS :-
  • Bread - 5 Slice
  • Onion - 1 chopped 
  • Bell pepper /capsicum - 1 chopped 
  • Cabbage - 1/2 cup chopped
  • Carrot - 1 tbsp chopped
  • Butter - 1 tbsp 
  • Garlic - 4 Cloves chopped 
  • Green chilli - 3 chopped 
  • Tomato - 1 chopped 
  • Cumin powder - 1/3 tsp
  • Tomato sauce - 2 tbsp
  • Cheese - 1/2 cup Grated
  • Salt according to taste 
METHOD :-
  • Heat a pan and add 1 tbsp butter. 
  • When butter is melt, than add chopped garlic and green chilli. Saute it for 30 seconds. 
  • Than add chopped onion and saute it until, onion become transparent. 
  • Than add tomato, and cook it for 30 sec on high flame. 
  • Now, add chopped capsicum, cook it until, it turn soft. 
  • Than, add chopped cabbage and cook of high flame for 1 min. 
  • Add salt and Cumin powder and cook for more 1 min. Than turn off the flame. 
  • Leave it to cool down completely. 
  • Now, take a slice of bread, cut the sides and roll it thin, using a rolling pin. 
  • Than spread water on every sides. 
  • Now, add 1 tbsp veggie stuffing and give a cylindrical shape. So that pocket will be perfect. 
  • Now, roll the bread and make the pockets. Seal all the side by pressing it. Using your fingers.. 
  • Likewise prepare all pockets and there is one more to make it. 
  • Take a bread slice and add the stuffing and put another bread slice and press it. 
  • Now spread some butter on every pockets. 
  • Microwave all pockets on 180° for 10 minutes. 
  • We can also fry it. It will more crispy. If you want to fry the pockets than don't apply butter on it.

Hello, Welcome to Repast Love. Today we are going to prepare Gulab Jamun. It is one of the popular Indian desserts in parties, weddings and festivals. These deep fried soaked sugar syrup balls are delight to relish.  Festivals are incomplete without sweets. But the high adulteration ruins the mood.
