Kalakand Recipe using Home made Milkmaid
Today, I am going to share a sweets recipe, that is kalakand.Bringing sweets is a sign of bringing happiness and positivity. Kalakand is an Indian sweet made out of solidified, sweetened milk and paneer. This sweets originate in Alwar, Rajasthan, India.
It don't like sweets too much but my brother love it so much, that's why I made it. And if I am making something special and new, than how I can forget to share with all you guys. You all are also my family. Just above I said, t don't like sweets too much, so I used home made Milkmaid to balance the sweetness.
If you love sweets the use the same quantity of Milkmaid that are available in market and if you also like too make it less sweet than use 1/2 cup of Milkmaid (borrow from market).
Most of you escape this recipe because of Milkmaid, that we don't have Milkmaid so we cannot make it. Don't worry guys, i am here. You can make Milkmaid at your home and it's taste same as Milkmaid that we borrow from market. Ingredients that are required for Milkmaid are : 1 cup Milk, 1/4 tsp of baking soda and sugar, that's it.
METHOD to make a Milkmaid :
- Take a pan.
- Add milk and sugar.
- Now cook it until milk become half.
- Now add baking soda.
- Cook it until it become little thick, don't cook it more as after it's cool it also become thick.
- Cook it always on low flame.
INGREDIENTS :-
- Milkmaid - 1 cup
- Paneer - 1.5 cup
- Cardamom - 1 tsp
- Dry fruits for decor chopped
- Milk powder - 1/2 cup
METHOD :-
- Take a pan. Don't turn off the flame.
- Add paneer crushed, Milkmaid, milk powder and now mix all.
- Now turn on the flame.
- Mix it using a spatula and press it so it become smooth.
- Cook it till it become thick.
- Once it is thick, turn off the flame.
- Take a plate, pour the kalakand batter.
- Press it using a spatula or spoon and give a square shape. (Watch in video).
- Spread Cardamom and chopped dry fruits and press it using spoon.
- Now refrigerate it for 1 hrs.
- Cut in barfi shape and enjoy it..
