Hey friends, Welcome to repast love and today we'll make a healthy snack. You'll be missing out a lot of snacks during this lockdown, so make a healthy one. Today we'll make a Makhana recipe. Basically there are two types.. Black pepper and Mint Makhana. For the Makhana Chaat , I've taken 50gms of makhana .
Phool Makhana, Makhana, Foxnut or Lotus seedsare are few names. Phool means flower and Makhana is the name of the seeds of the Lotus flower or Foxnut. Phool Makhana is actually the processed seeds of the Lotus flower. The black colored seeds are collected and washed thoroughly. They are sorted and sun-dried. The dried seeds are then fried and manually cleaned until the white puff pops out, just as in the case of popcorn. Makhana is now processed and ready.
What are the benefits of Makhana?
- Makhana works great for weight loss, pregnant women, curing skin problems, diabetes etc.
- This traditional snack is a healthful food of much nutritious value.
- It has low saturated fat, contentand low cholesterol and sugar contents. Thus it is a healthy heart snack.

So let's start...
INGREDIENTS :-
- Makhana - 2 cup
- Ghee - 2 tbsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
- Salt - 1/4 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
- Red Chilli Powder - 1/4 tsp
- Chaat Masala - 1/2 tsp
- Curd - 2tbsp
- Imli Chutney - 2 tbsp
- Onions - 1 small Chopped
- Green Chilli - 2 Chopped
- Tomato - 1 Small Chopped
- Carrot - 1/2 Grated
- Sev or Mixture - 1 tbsp
METHOD :-
- Take a frying pan /wok. Add 2 tbsp Ghee.
- Now, put 2 cup Makhana and raost it for 40sec.
- Now, add : Cumin powder, red chilli powder, salt and turmeric powder.
- And mix it, cook makhana for 2 to 3 min, so that turmeric is cook well.
- Than keep it in a plate and leave to cool down.
- When it is become cold, keep it ina plate.
- Spread 2 tbsp Curd, 2 tbsp imli Chutney, chopped - onions, green chillies, tomato and carrot, 1 pinch Cumin powder, 1/2 tsp chaat masala and some Sev or Mixture.
- Your chaat is ready to serve.
- Combo of Yummy with Healthy.
