Crispy Corn Masala
Today's recipe is healthy and spicy snacks for my lovely friends. Everyone love corn chaat and at this pandemic time, we are not able to go outside and have it. That's why, I tried my best for you and my family to make this Corn masala easy. All the ingredients are easily available in your home, only sweet corn you have to buy.
Corn also known as maize (Zea mays), corn is one of the world’s most popular cereal grains. It’s the seed of a plant in the grass family, native to Central America but grown in countless varieties worldwide. Sweet corn are popular varieties, but refined corn products are also widely consumed, frequently as ingredients in processed food.Corn is in everything from soda to cereal. According to the Tufts University Health & Nutrition Letter, Americans consume about 160 pounds of corn per person each year. This consumption has raised concerns about whether corn is replacing more healthful foods.
Today, I will share with a corn chaat story. You must saw the corn chaat stall in Indian marriage at starter side. One of my friends always eat that and only on her demand I made this.
INGREDIENTS :-
- Sweet Corn - 200grms/ 2 cup
- Cornflour - 1.5 tbsp
- Red Chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
- Green chilli - 3 chopped
- Onions - 1 chopped
- Chatt masala - 1/2tsp
- Cumin powder - 1 tsp
- Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
- Oil for frying
- Salt as per taste
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
METHOD :-
- Take 2 cup sweet corn.
- Boil 4 cup water and add corn to it. Boil the corn for 10 mins. Sweet Corn seem to be pluffy.
- Now, take it out from water. Put it in a seive.
- Put the boiled sweet corn in a bowl.
- ADD: corn flour (or rice flour), Red chilli powder and salt. Mix all ingredients well, till the sweet corn is coated well. All of the spices should coat
- If needed add 1/2 tbsp water. The sweet corn doesn't have any powder.
- Heat oil in wok to fry. When the oil is hot.you don't need very hot oil to fry
- Fry the sweetcorn for 5min. While frying it may splatter out of wok, if it happens than keep a plate and cover the wok.
- Take out the roast corn from wok. Keep the Roasted corn in a bowl.
- You can eat it at this stage also but to make it more tasty we will add.
- ADD:- Chatt masala, Cumin powder, onions, green chilli and lemon juice.
- Mix all well and serve it.
